With Thanksgiving right around the corner, I know I’ve already been dreaming about pumpkin pie and loaded mashed potatoes. But Thanksgiving is about more than eating all of things on your blacklist. It’s an opportunity to think about family, and all the blessings we have in this life.
And also — what’s sometimes harder to think about — the hardships, trials and failures.
But, these too, are necessary, because without these, we would not be who we are today.
Without the dark, would we appreciate the light? Without the bad times, could we really appreciate the good? Without knowing loss, are you ever truly able to embrace life?
A life cannot be lived without ups and downs, highs and lows, successes and failures. It’s easy to get caught up in your own personal struggles and forget about the bigger picture.
Trust me, the Thanksgiving turkey himself knows this better than anyone.
But life is all about learning, and at various stages we know different things. Sometimes we get what we we want, sometimes we achieve goals; other times we fail, and we fall flat on our faces. But we grow … we change … we get back up again. One thing is for sure, we never know how long our journey will be. So we’ve got to appreciate each day we are alive, and most importantly, be thankful for the people we have to enjoy it with.
Life is too short to think about who has done you wrong, what you don’t have, or how things could’ve been different.
It’s always important to remember where you’ve been, and how you go there, but you can’t move forward without your eyes on the road, looking ahead. Focus on what is to come.
Life is made up of a billion little moments. Some bad, some good, but all leading up to where you are, at this very point.
Now is the time to dig deep and find that inner strength. It’s there; you’ve just got to believe in yourself. Failure is not a bad thing. The worst thing, is never to have tried.
Forget about the things holding you back. And when I say forget, I don’t just mean sweep that negativity under the rug; I want you to take it out with the trash.
Because today is a new day; embrace it; go after it. If you want things to change, make it happen. There is no time like the present, so why waste it?
Life is a beautiful gift — an opportunity. Be thankful, and make the most of it.
